The procedure of Inner four-fold Siva Yoga sadhana
Who
is the most beloved for Lord Shiva?
Let's
reveal what Shivayoga pratiphika state on for benefit of Yoga Sadaka.
Practitioners
of yoga should not stop at squeezing the body and practice this higher sadhana
as well.
True
Siva Yoga consists of four parts, namely Indra Nigragam (control of five
senses), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (Meditation) and Samadhi (Super
consciousness stat). This is called Antara Chaturanga Sivayoga Vidhanam – The
procedure of Inner four fold Siva Yoga Sadahana
It
is symbolized by Kandam (Sandalwood paste), Pushpam (Flower), Dhupam (Offer
Fragrance / Agarbatti) and Naivedic (Offer Food to the Lord) Upasaras for those
performing Bahiya outer Shiv Pooja to Lord Shiva in the initial stage.
The
olfactory senses must become as fragrant as sandalwood for the attainment of
Shiva Yoga to attain Shivahood. Therefore, the external worship called Kandam
Samarpanam (Offer sandalwood paste/powder) is a symbol of inner yoga sadhana,
which means the senses must go towards Lord shiva not towards worldly mundane
things!
Next,
if the wandering mind is drifting like smoke, when it is concentrated toward
Shiva, and when the thoughts flow like oil, offering fragrance, smoke is the
symbol of that Dharana state. The unmoved mind,
established
in the third stage of Yoga called dharana, is a symbol of blossoms of the mind.
Offering flowers is a symbol of meditation!
When
Sadaka goes beyond meditation and reaches the samadhi – super-consciousness
state that, the soul becomes an offering to Shiva, so naivediya is the symbol
of the state of samadhi!
If
you are a yogic practitioner, then you can perform these sadhanas daily by
offering these four upasaras to Lord Shiva with sandalwood, fragrance
agarbatthi, flowers and naivediyam and contemplate the meaning in the mind.
Offering
Sandal paste: Om Namasivaya Gandham Samarpayami (Offer sandalwood paste/powder)
My Indriyas – Senses are subsumed and purified; I wish to get the perfection in
Yoga! I Pray that to lord Shiva!
Offering
incense: Om Sivayanamah Dhoopam Aaghraapayaami (Offer Fragrance / Agarbatti)
may my mind become concentrated and be blessed with dharana saktthi and
Yogasiddhi! I pray for that!
Offering
flowers: Om Sivayavasi - Pushpam Samarpayami (Offer Flowers to the Lord) I
should be blessed to get into a meditative state and get yogic siddhi! Pray for
that
Offering
Naivetya: Om ShivShiva Neivedyam Samarpayami (Offer Food to the Lord) I must
gather and be blessed to attain the state of samadhi yoga siddhi by
shivarpanam! Pray that
then
close your eyes and do your yoga sadhana in front of Shiva Lingam, Lord Shiva's
meditating picture or the Temple of Lord Shiva! This will advance you in the
yogic path very quickly!
According
to Shivayoga pradipika, if one attains perfection in all the four parts of
Chaturanga Yoga, which are control of senses, singleness of mind, meditative
state, and samadhi, then one is the most beloved Shiva yogi to Lord Shiva.
