State of mind is cyclic and travel through time; inner evolution is purely based on our state of mind; which is obviously cyclic with time;
mind can focus to its higher self (God) and positive thoughts, then sustain in its higher state (raise of above graph) or focus in to lower nature (hate, anger, attachment) and stay in lower state (sink of the graph) ; also mind is travelling through time;
mind influenced by three guna (Sattva, Rajo, Thamo) based on persons Guna dominance path of Yoga will be defined; and no person cannot stay in one Guna forever, mind will fall and up with time!
Then we need all four tools (Karma, Bhakthi, Gnana, Raja Yoga) to tackle the situation as per the situation! as proposed scheme of Yoga proposed by Swami Vivekananda, in all above four paths Yoga is constant, prefix is changing! constant factor is our ultimate aim, that is yogam! prefix are changing as per inner evolutions of seeker! Karma, Bhakthi, Raja, Jnana are tools as per the inner evolution of Sadhaka to reach his ultimate goal of Yogam !
Tamil Siddha's have different working scheme of yoga - mind, body & Prana! and inner evolution can be stabilize by mastering the Prana!
